An old man (a philosopher?) seated on the floor, in profile to left, looking at his reflection in a mirror; a barrel and a stack of paper (a book), lying in front of him on the floor; a window on the left; after Parmigianino. c. 1732-1736. The inscription originally at the bottom of the picture has been cut out, but still available with the picture: "E Musæo præhonlis. Dñi Dñi Jacobi Cavendish." This latter inscription relates to the provenance of the drawing. Monogrammed on the bottom right: "AP fecit." and on the left: "Fran.s Parm. delt."
